    FS: Birdsong Piccolo bass

I bought a brand new Birdsong Sadhana Piccolo in July. The sound is full-bodied and even across the bass. The instrument is very well made and Scott Beckwith is a great guy to work with. cbk

SOLD STR LS648 Custom 6-String - Exotic Kurogaki Top, 34" Scale/18mm, NAMM Show Bass

I bought the STR LS 748 (7 String) from the Low End a few months ago and I can't put it down. It has a clear, even tone across the entire register. It will produce a great slap tone and a mellow finger-style sound. The bass is as solid as a rock, and yet is lighter than my Fender, Roscoe...

    Sympathetic Vibrations

I recently began playing a Roscoe 6 string fretless bass and an STR 7 string fretted bass. Both instruments create alot of sympathetic vibrations. To mute the strings I'm finding that my technique must change fairly dramatically. Depending on the note/string/attack, I use either my fingering...

The 60 Cycle Hum on an STR 7

It makes sense that they cancel each other until one is favored. I like the sound of the bass, but it is a shame not to be able to get the other tone shades because of the hum. Thanks everyone for all of the input. I may return the bass and continue the search for the tone ... cbk

The 60 Cycle Hum on an STR 7

I just bought a used STR LS748. Everything sounds good, except the 60 cycle hum when one pick-up is favored over the other. If the bass is moved away from the amp, the hum fades somewhat; however the "spot" is hard to find and the hum is extremely loud. I would appreciate any suggestions as...
