    Custom neck for a Steinberger Spirit?

    I'm just thinking - most machinists can, if they will and if you supply the current headpiece and neck for patterns, fabricate the headpiece for about the cost of the standard headpiece.

    re. pickup height

    I have a Peavey bass and I'm replacing single coil pickups (with height adjusting screws) with pickups with 4 screws( 2 each side) and need to know how far the strings should be from the pickups since they're not height adjustable. Any help?

    If you have elephant ears tuners, check if one of the ears is loose. Many are.

    thanks for the response - I found the info from another forum. I'm building a bass and wanted to use single coils for it but would prefer a better tone - maybe by not using 500k pots like Peavey uses?

    I just got this Peavey Foundation bass with Peavey Super Ferrite pickups and they are wider than my guitar humbuckers. Are they single coils?
