I love Crowbar. A band who's music sounds exactly like the band looks.

I made a quick recording of my current metal bass tone and thought I'd post it for appraisal. It's nothing fancy but I really like how it's sounding so far.

I use brake cleaning fluid. It's a very gnarly degreaser that evaporates, leaving no residue. I work in a heavy vehicle mechanic workshop, so I have access to gallons of the stuff. Every week or so I loosen my strings, put a towel or piece of cardboard under them to protect the fretboard, and...
