Cloudflare is a royal PITA lately as it has been hanging and looping for extented periods before letting me in to Talkbass. There has to be a better way of verifying users others than relying on this obstructive, annoying piece of sh*t software.

I once read that Jamerson broke a string during a Motown recording session, then spent the next several hours hitting up fellow bassists around Detroit looking for a well-used replacement, as a new string wouldn't match the thud of the other three dead LaBellas. Don't know if he found one.

I always used LaBella DTF (Deep Talkin' Flats) on my P-bass for that classic Jamerson-Dunn-Cogbill style thump, but gigging with them wore me out because of their extreme high tension and stiffness, somewhat akin to wrestling with a bear. I tried some more "modern" brands but they never settled...
