D'Addario Chromes for sure ! ! ! They're pretty bright for flatwounds, but they have good thump and lack the harsh metallic overtones of rounds. And they feel fantastic. No more unwanted finger noise! By the way, flatwound strings and P-basses are a match made in heaven :-)

I would keep the BF-2. It's a great flanger. And if you turn the MANUAL and RES knobs to zero you can also use the pedal as a chorus, try it!

+1 for Lakland ! True story: some time ago, I went out to buy me a new "real" Precision bass and tried 5(!) different USA Fenders side by side in my local music store... I was disappointed as imho not a single one of them sounded that great to me... Eventually I left with a Lakland Skyline...
