Who Believes In Leaving Basses Alone?

I know alot of people don't like the ibanez bridges + preamps and change them out. I for one, love ibanez's, especially the SR300 and SR700. I think they both sound absolutely amazing and wouldn't change anything on them. But again, they ain't my basses

Who Believes In Leaving Basses Alone?

Some basses, e.g. american standard fenders, rickenbackers, dingwall's, G&L's/Laklands, no, nothing should be changed. heavy emphasis on the Am STD Fenders and ricks. You wanted the rick/fender p/j sound, you bought the bass, you got it. why change it? IMO basses to mod are cheap-o's/knockoff's...

I'm to nit picky, None of my basses make me happy.

TBH it sounds like you need to learn how to play and have all your basses professionally setup.

Need recommendations - looking for D standard - tight, punchy, aggressive/metallic

So yeah...I need some strings that are very metallic sounding, obviously heavier gauge for the drop tuning and will keep a decent punch at that tuning. I'm thinking about the Robert Trujillo strings but I don't know if they make them in heavy gauge. Can anyone recommend me some strings...

    Warmoth Owners Club!!

I'd kill for a carved dinky p routed for two humbuckers and the standard warmoth neck/head.

Real Barts....yes they are THAT good

What's the sound like? I bought some seymour duncan quarterpounders (SPB-3) and while I like the hotness, it's not TOO big of an improvement over my stock pickups...I mean, it's cleared and certainly has less hum, but it's not the tone I'm looking for. I like the fat, low down gritty bite-y...

is the whole chrome pickup cover thing a fad?

On certain basses, ashtrays are cool. I'd love a black chrome ashtray with black chrome hardware. But pickup covers, EW.

    Replacement pickups for Epiphone EB-0?

I'm going to buy a EB-0 soon for kicks, and while I like the sound the stock pickup has, I'd like something a little higher quality. Does anyone know if any replacement pickups are made for a EB-0 bass?
