Just measured my Dingwall NG2 and at the centre of the fanned nut (so perpendicular to the A string slot) I'm getting 46.35mm (1.82")

So, here's the thing. I have a SBMM Ray5 and it sounds fantastic (for certain things, it totally thrashes my Dingwall), however it weighs an absolute ton (probably 50% more than my Ray4, which is odd) and has quite a bit of neck dive. I know that replacing the tuners with something not made...

Could possibly be that. Is it even supposed to sound that distorted anyway? It does the same thing straight into an interface, and the interface isn't the bit that's clipping. I've tried contacting EBS, but haven't had a reply yet. Think it's worth trying to get a refund from the seller?

I have a white SBMM SUB Ray 4. Best bass I've ever owned.

I personally quite like the sound of new strings, especially EB Slinkys. Basically just give them some time and they'll go duller or adjust the tone or EQ to cut the treble a bit.
