So I've got an Ampeg 810 with a Gallien Krueger MB500 with a Corvette Standard 5 string, passive. I can get the sounds I want at pretty low volume but once I try to get it pretty loud it starts making a distorted sound as if its being pushed pretty hard. Only problem is it starts to happen once...

I would go with the 2nd choice, I have the MB500 head, and its awesome...... so i'm guessing the mb200 head will be the same just not as loud.

I just wanted to share a link, hopefully this is in the right section, I think this song is awesome :o And the bassist has a really good tone in it in my opinion, you can hear him more at the end of the song. Maybe this will get some more followers of the doom genre :)

Its all new stuff yes, and my bass doesn't use batteries. I'll expirement with that though tomorrow, too late to do it today.

Could it be the Countour knob on the head? I just tried turning that all the way down... I'ma see what that does.
