    "Fixed" hairline fracture?

Hi all. It's been a while. About a year ago, I purchased a Warwick Rockbass Corvette $$ 5 string. The only downfall (which I knew at the time) is a hairline fracture/crack at the headstock end of the neck. It appears to have been repaired, but I'm not sure to what extent. The left side of the...

Current most popular rock bands January 2018

Given the nature of music to break down into further genres, a straight "rock" sound isn't particularly mainstream or common where I live (being a 19 year-old uni student, living in a coastal town in Australia). Popular rock-oriented groups I've heard recently on the radio and in conversation...

Which bass are you getting next?

Either: • A p, to encourage playing better with less options, rather than changing tones all the time. • A fretless, a 5(+) string, an active bass or an ABG to experiment and have "appropriate" basses for different gigs (I currently have all passive 4 strings- a mex jazz, epi tbird and Cort p/j)...

Pretty ways to vandalize an acoustic bass

Get some paint markers, clearcoat and fine sandpaper and go nuts like I did with my fist bass! (Cort action P/J)

If you had some cash to blow what bass would you buy today?

I'd have to go for a Warwick corvette $$, because the tonal versatility and appearance is quite unlike anything I've ever witnessed!drool

So I want to learn to read!

Hi all! After sitting around, playing bass in my bedroom as I'm sure many of us do, I've always been putting off the one big thing which would make a drastic difference to my playing...Reading sheet music. I've tried time and time again, and with the avaliability of tabs, I guess I sort of...

How well do you think YOU play the bass?

I gave myself a solid 4 because while I am technically versatile, a quick learner by ear and tab, my massive fault is that I can hardly read sheetmusic, because I learned by ear and never moved beyond tabs. I need to learn to read if I have any hope of being in any band

Why do YOU "only" play a 4 ?

I play a 4 because my dad's Gibson ripper was what I learned on, and that had four. And I'm not in a band, so it's what I want to play, and there isn't a whole lot of stuff I play that requires down tuning past a low D. However, that doesn't stop me looking, always wanting to add to the...

    [existential scream]

Hi all, Had a solid playing session today on the Jazz, but it's troubling me. When I pull her out, and stare at that rapidly discolouring Arctic white body, I am filled with the sound in my head of a generic mid-scooped, classic passive jazz bass slap tone.drool However, with my lil' practise...

Thank you, looked like a Bubiga top but I'm not too sure on Warwick's special editions or variants, today was the first one I've ever seen in the...wood

    Warwick Corvette [blank]

Hi all, After months of lurking on talkbass and subsequently forgetting I have an account, I simply must ask this question. Today I went to a local guitar store, and spotted a rare beauty (for an Australian music store). A Warwick corvette bass...
