Out of curiosity, does it play good with the new pickup? Problems of neck dive?

WHy do bassists love "natural" finishes so much?

AFAIK the original "standard" finish for Fenders was white blonde, they introduced the sunburst as standard with the Stratocaster because the guitar looked too untraditional so at least the colour had to be more common, they offered solid colours for a 5% extra, judging from this, the coloured...

WHy do bassists love "natural" finishes so much?

It really depends by the type of wood, for instance, basswood and poplar ALWAYS look bad in natural. Alder is nothing special, so "normal" maple and ash if it's not bookmatched properly. And as you pointed out there are very attractive woods that sound dead.

WHy do bassists love "natural" finishes so much?

That's the boredom!Especially the horrible walnut colour Fender used in these days... This thread made me remember how badly I want a Precision with PJ configuration, sonic blue and white pearloid pickguard.:D:D

Why is Fender Japan producing better instruments than the USA???

I know the second seller, he does have a PJ-455, very similar to my Jazz Special (Pj-455) at the end we didn't have the deal, though. My take of MIJ basses is that they're very finished because the japanese culture is focused on the way things look (for instance the way they place the sushi...

That's it I'm Done..... P Bass is King

The deluxe plus is a great bass, of course, if you accept that something can be changed since 1957...:hiding: I wanted to contribute to this thread with my Jazz Plus, which is basically a precision with a jazz pickup, but it seems that anything which diverges from the Holy Revelation of the...

A couple questions for a beginner bassist.

I don't like the control plate of the Jazz either, that's the reason why I think the Jazz Plus of the 80s is much more stylish...in general I can say that leo liked chromed control plates, one of the earlier Stratocasters had a black pickguard with a small chromed control plate like a J, that...

What makes a Fender sound like a fender?

If you don't like the sound fo the pickups you can replace them and I'm pretty sure that the P5 will remain a P5, and I agree, "modern" pickups tend to have more output, but the Fender sound is not just low output...
