I really like the fuzz. I set it to a really low gain and pretty much leave it always on. In the modern setting it cleans up nicely the lighter you play kinda like a Fuzzface. It is a bit noisy though.

Check out the boss multi overtone. It can do an octave up and/or down, but it also adds all kinds of harmonics and overtones. If you roll off the tone and detune you can get a pretty natural sound. I use it as an always on pedal with my bass vi so It makes it sound like a bass xii.

All piezos pretty much sound the same. Get a vic’s pickup at uprightbasspickups.com. The dude from Koffin Kat’s makes them and they are solid, cheap, and sound exactly like a piezo pickup. Use the money you save to get a good preamp and don’t plug your f holes. That poopie’s dumb.

I liked the platinum stage so much I bought the pro. It’s great for fighting feedback and the tone is very natural sounding. My only bitch about it is the tuner is hard to see in the sunlight, but you don’t have to worry about that on the stage version.

The singer/banjo player in my band loves to play new songs live that we’ve never rehearsed or heard until we’re onstage. It was pretty nerve racking at first, but after a couple years now we’ve got enough chemistry we can make it through.
