Threatened of being fired (from 2 bands) because I won't take a spare bass...

I see Qwezi that you have a Modulus, let's face it you really don't need to tote a second bass when you have one of these jewels, batteries and strings are the only thing I tote extra. If they have an issue with me or my gear all I say is you called me, I can leave.

I shimmed my neck (and the sound changed)

I agree, raising the strings would probably change the tones, were adjusting the neck pickup would help in the lower tone.

Your Rig - where's your biggest cost?

    that is a beautiful axe.

What’s the cheapest bass you’ve been/are amazed with?

Sarzo signature bass I picked up for $300.00 and a fender lyte I picked up for $200.00.

Is older heavier gear getting cheap since light weight is the fad?

I think its cool if you want to play the older gear, I loved my SVT, but now my gear don't like me and it put me out from gigging for about 8 years because of back and neck surgeries. Now I have ventured into a Mark Bass head, that puts my SVT3 pro to shame and my Hartke, but with that said I'm...

Why are Ampeg SVTs so popular?

I liked them back when Magnavox still owned them, as you see I have an SVT3 pro in my picture that I have had nothing but issues with and I am not getting any help from Load Technologies on the matter. But this is why I am playing a Mark Bass now.

    Why did you pick bass?

To answer the question of why I picked the bass is this, a good bass player can always be working if he wants to.

    Why did you pick bass?

I love that art work on your Rick.

    Do you loan stuff out?

You would have to be a super close and very well known friend. I don't make it a custom to borrow out a $1000.00 bass head or a $6000.00 axe

Does a 4-string bass become obsolete after picking up a 5-string?

Lets ask Victor and Billy why they're instrument of choice is a 4. Each to his own, but I can do everything I need to do on my 4 string not to mention I'm a musician, the strings are cheaper, haha.

Tiny Head, Same Big Speaker Cabs: What's the Point?

There is obviously a reason why you would buy a class D head, more than likely it is a weight issue so why wouldn't you try to match it with a light cab also or it would defeat the reason in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I would love to had kept playing through my old SVT and 2-215...

Why aren't you using tube amps?

I bought me a MarkBass, at the beginning of the year. The 800 watt anniversary model and it is incredible and I love the 6.6 pounds even better.

Why aren't you using tube amps?

It is hard to beat that big tube sound and power. I had a Magnavox era SVT, but I can speak for most of the other older players out there after awhile it causes wear and tear on the old back. So recently i went super light with a Mark Bass 800 watt head weighing in at 6.6 pounds. (a lot nicer...

Have you ever played someone's famous bass?

I played Victor Wooten's Alembic that his brother Reggie was playing a gig with in Nashville.

Whats the biggest mistake you made in your bass "career"

Turning down a 4 year scholarship to a pretty decent music school, all because I had different plans for my music career.
