That Fisher speaker is acoustic suspension. That's why it sounds better in that small cabinet.

Yes, you can use the tabs off the 8". Make sure you get positive and negative correctly aligned. I am assuming this is a solid state amp, so you would increase the wattage output with 4 ohms vs. 8 ohms. Also you could drill a hole ih the back and add a socket for an extension speaker.

I know they're not great bass speakers, they weren't designed for that. I can't have too much volume in an apartment. The amp will have 10 watts rms, max. Hooking them up to my little gem, they sound pretty good.

When I was tearing down a ceiling at a laundromat, I got 4 8" Radio Shack speakers out of it. I was thinking they be good for a practice amp for my apartment, as a lot of power wouldn't work. Be all right in my buddies garage, too. Any design tips for a cab? They're only 15 watts peak.

Keep the old one. Put it onstage. If u need it it's there.

I always start clean, and dirty it up if I need to. Fortunately I have a PV that does it with a foot switch. Clean takes no more power than dirty, because the dirt comes thru the pre-amp, not the power amp. Dirty just sounds louder
