Anyone have any bad vibes about re-stringing with experimental strings that might have been played just a few times? I have a small collection that I would like to try again. I understand the machine head bend and stress factor, but the strings would go on the same guitar. :hmm:

For me this is the best write-up yet. :) I love my '77 P and IM getting my '12 American Std J Monday. Can't wait. :hyper: I think it will fit with the varied styles of music I play. My SVT top and bottom is gonna take a CHT when it hears this one...:D :bassist:

What sound advantage is there to bridge inputs on an SVT-VR? Does anyone use the setup? Just curious..:hmm:

I have an American SVT-VR that was re-tubed a year ago when I bought it. I only use channel one. Instead of replacing the whole 6 tube set, can the tube set be rotated to lengthen tube life and possibly get a better tone? I guess it wouldn't hurt none to do so. Based on the picture which tubes...

Thanks guys. That tells me a lot. JimmyM - Really don't know what the comparison output might be with KT-120's versus 6550's. This is my first SVT-VR and have yet to experiment with other tubage.

all the tubes in my American made SVT-VR w/o dismantling. I see 6-KT-120's (obviously upgraded) and 2-12AU7 and 1-12AX7 drivers, but can't see the preamps. Do I remove all the tubes to I see the other 3? :eyebrow:

I just scored a super clean used Epi T, but the PUP's were apparently misadjusted. I raised 'em to about 1/8 to 3/16" from the strings and I think they sound OK. Where do you guys like your PUP's?:hmm:
