We have guitar stuff cooking, but this is a single bass model launch. I like to savor them one at a time with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Damn, I kinda feel bad. You went to all that trouble but that's not at all the beast coming up. Nice touch with the magnified view of the pickup coil, though. : )

Not sure where the pickups would end up being for the ideal position, but I for one would certainly want to see at least one big MFD bucker in there for maximum ass kicking potential.

I'd want to stick with the existing Saddle Lock. I'd want a G&L bridge and G&L pickups, and the more we mess with spacing at both ends, the more it messes with the pole spacing. At least with one hard point of spacing at the bridge, we only have to deal with the pole spacing as the strings...

The last thing Leo worked on was the "6-string bass" prototype which was a beefed up guitar with beefed up parts, still 25 1/2" scale, one octave down. It's in the lab and very special to us as you can imagine.

It appears to be a test mule L-5000 with a second Z-coil pickup, but I'm sure you already knew that. There's always been a lot of mix-and-match stuff tried out.

What we're hearing most is that people want some kind of Fallout Bass in short scale, basically they like the aesthetic vibe of the Fallout guitar somehow expressed in a bass.

Not anytime soon. I'm thinking more about going the opposite direction: short-scale.

Ha! You're closer than you think. We've just started building the first few, two for official photos, one for video demo. If all goes well, production starts late this month and the launch goes live before the end of the month.

If I say anything else I'll give it away. I hope it's one of those things that once we do it, people will think it's obviously such a cool idea they'll wonder why we didn't think of it before. Good chance you own G&Ls with all of the parts, just not on the same bass.
