So I'm about to build my first bass and I want to get the wood for it locally. The only wood they have the right size is Sapele Mahogany. I've never used a bass made of this, I've seen it used for acoustics but never on a solid body. Is this a good idea?

Well guys, I have to say I found a hell of a steal. Used Schecter Stiletto fretless 4 string for $400. I'm about to order if tomorrow. I just stumbled upon it while looking at the 2016 listing, sound it on Reverb. I'm pretty damn hyped.
