Been looking for a bass for alittle while now. Don't have alot of money to spend. I was looking at a Squier VM, but found a used Schecter Diamond J at a local store It is the same price as the new VM. It also comes with a hard case. Are these basses good? Thanks

Hi, I am looking at a Squier Jazz Bass on my local CL. The guy says that it was made in Korea in 1979-1980. From what i can figure out is that it was made in 1997. The SN is KV970xxxxx. Am I right? Also, does any one know what models of jazz bass that they made in Korea? These are the pictures...
