Are Thomastik strings easier on the hands

flats are not gonna be the answer. Ti rounds are also low tension. Assuming your ergonomics are in the pocket, the Ti rounds offer a modestly easier finger feel. They are easier on your wallet though...you buy them once and keep them forever

    Schroeder Cabinets

i have schroeders and i like them. use the same eden too as well as an old mesa big block 750. either head works fine but both sound kinda the same through the cab. have you checked out a barefaced? I have a 12" and a 10". they have a real singing quality, and each head sounds completely...

any good amp with the ability to defeat the EQ section?

my multiple active basses are a pain to dial in when there is onboard EQ, especially with the midrange band. I have a boogie big block 750 and i have reached out to mesa to see if there is any kind of mod or some product in the pipeline with the ability to defeat the EQ section. Anybody know of...

    new pandemic: garbage pup screws

where can one find the best, hardened, non-puttylike, non-excavating philips head screws for pickups. it's just unbelievable how crummy these screws are and how widespread the disease. And this is WITH pilots, lubes, soap.

    HELP 410 cab question

hey strongly - STRONGLY - advise against sourcing stuff yourself for a cab. Bass cabinet components are not plug and play. there is real science and immensely complicated construction for these things. If you go to the barefaced site you can read a bunch of really really great columns about the...

    kinman J set question

i have experimented with just about every j pup out there. i just got these and they are really extraordinary. utterly noiseless. singing piano string kind of tone. But there are some questions for which i cannot find any satisfactory answers on the kinman site. First, they sit high so i'm...

    EMG wiring question

hey all have great sounding EMJ jazz bass set and standard 3 control set as follows: V,V,T i want to add the VMC active midrange control, which the EMG website verbiage states is consistent with a range of installations but for which absolutely none are found. I need to work this thing either...

nailing it with a metronome to count 5,7,9 against 1

you know how it is, not always possible. the boss boxes (db60 and 90) have some cool enhancements and other mixing functions that caught my attention, but there is not a single definitive answer anywhere that i can find addressing subdivisions. btw, another iphone app that is stupendous for...

nailing it with a metronome to count 5,7,9 against 1

does anyone know of a free standing metronome that can subdivide to quintuplets, septuplets and 9's? do any of the boss boxes do it? using time guru on my iphone which is awesome but just creams the battery

    grounding oneself

i've had the opportunity several times to look in the control cavity of a sadowsky. he uses a star configuration that's implemented like a work of art. all the wires come to a small eyelet screw with minimal soldering. looks like a parachute. he doesn't ground pot to pot, just pot to eyelet
