I am about to buy a Schroeder cabinet. I've owned 2 in the past. A 15PL which I didn't care for and a 12.6 that I loved! I have emailed back in forth with Schroeder trying to decide which way to go. Here are my options... If any of you guys have hands on experience with any of these... please light up the comments with details.

Mini 12L - I would probably buy 2. I am just worried with such a small cabinet, there may not be enough bottom end for me. I like to have plenty and just dial it back when needed.

12PL - would probably just grab one and if I like it... and need more, just buy another one later on down the road.

12.6 - I've owned one and dang I screwed up selling it. That cabinet sounded great no matter which head I used. The reason I sold is I bought a Mesa Subway 800+ and wanted a matching cabinet. Sold the 12.6 and ordered the Mesa 212 Subway. Unboxed the Sunway a week later and wanted to cry haha! The 12.6 just blew away the 212. Couldn't believe the 12.6 had more bottom end than the 212. The Subway sounded thin in comparison. Maybe I had a bad 212, who knows.

12.8 - This is the one I am leaning towards. Just thinking 12.6 on steroids... well, maybe a protein shake lol. I little more power handling and a little extra cone space.

I really wish the Mini 12L's would work... just cabinet size makes me think I won't be happy. I might just roll with a 12.6 since I have hands on experience and all. Let me know what you guys think? There is a use Mesa Subway 15, 80 miles from me. I don't mind making the trip but it has me thinking thin sounding 212 again. I am tried of trying out speakers and just looking for one, maybe 2 that will do the job, every job. (lightweight is a plus) I have a bad habit of buying a cab, using it and then selling... buying another cab. I never lose on it other than time... and it has had me getting my hands on a variety of cabinets.

Just in case you need to know... I will be running one of two heads. Ampeg PF50T or an Eden WT550.

i have schroeders and i like them. use the same eden too as well as an old mesa big block 750. either head works fine but both sound kinda the same through the cab. have you checked out a barefaced? I have a 12" and a 10". they have a real singing quality, and each head sounds completely unique through either. the cabs reproduce every nuance sent its way from the head. I had nordys, put in kinmans and the rig went into the stratosphere. The 10 was a leap of faith for me but it's truly awesome. didn't have to wait too long either

I missed out on a used barefaced... i didn't realize how expensive they were or I would've bought it. New... can't really justify the price.

I used this Schroeder 2x10 cab a few weeks ago and it sounded fine. This is my first cabinet from this builder and it was the first show with it. No complaints. Nicely built and not too heavy. I would have preferred a steel grill but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

nice looking cabinet either way! What are your thoughts on the Quilter?
I love the Quilter brand. So easy to haul around, affordable and plenty of power. Never a problem dialing in a usable sound and i have never had a ny maintenance issues.. I have the BB800 as well and have used it countless times.

It's not just hands-on experience, it's hands-on good experience. Cabinets have such a strong impact on your sound and they vary so much. If the 12.6 is something you know you really like a lot and you know it's readily available, why roll the dice on something else that may or may not measure up? Grab a pair of the 12.6 and you'll be set for any situation.

Shroeder is a great company and they've been at it for a really long time. If you already know (and miss) the 12.6 you really can't go worng with a direct replacement.

They make great stuff. I made the mistake of asking for an 800w handling 1x12 in a small form factor. He was able to do it, but unfortunately it just didn't sound great, but that's honestly my fault. He warned me it might be less than ideal.

800 watts RMS 112 in a small form factor??? I don't know of even a single suitable driver that would fit the bill.

I have the 803 also and it's great. Musical and versatile on it's own and plays well with pedals. Have the Interbass too for home use and it's another stellar product. I'm a happy Quilter customer. I'm set on cabs with a Barefaced One10 and a RevSound 210, but I'd love to try a Quilter cab.

I have a good friend that I subbed for often. He left his rig on the gig, and it was always a Euphonic 800 head, and some combination of Schroeder cabinets. First setup was two 12 L's, maybe PL's I don't remember- but it sounded great. Then, he got the mini 12's and of course, the rig did not sound quite the same, but it did sound good. Another friend had a 212 PL that was light as a feather, and it just sounded killer. I bought a 15L many years ago new, from Jorg. It's the 800 watt version. I like it, but it did not fulfil my hope that it would be a good single stand-alone cabinet. In that regard, it was disappointing. I still own it, and use it sometimes under another cabinet for outdoor gigs. Jorg makes a nice product, although I really wish I had bought the 212 PL.

I guess "enough for you" is the operative part of that and something I don't think anyone can truly address, but what I can say is that in my experience and for my day to day requirements, one Mini 12+L is beyond able to everything I ask of it in stellar fashion. Its capabilities, relative to expectations based on size and appearance, are a constant point of surprise for people who hear it. For quite a while, I ran a 212PL and the Mini that I would choose between until I realized that the 212PL hadn't left the house in such a long time that there ended up being no reason to keep it.

I have difficulty imagining circumstances appropriate to any pair of 12s where a pair of Mini 12+Ls would somehow be insufficient for anyone. But that's perspective for you...maybe the next person can.

Same as far as the 15. Mine was the 600 watt version.

I have a 2x10 I’ve been playing for several years 70-90 shows per year. It’s an absolute monster but I’ve decided to sell only because we use IEM’s (a GK plex) and I don’t need that much stage volume any more

They are the best cabs I have ever played!! Looking forward to the 12 mini
