I am about to buy some headphones for Bass practice, am i making the right choice?

I have a pair of the V600s too, and I think they have more bass response and are not as flat as the 7506s. Some may like those better.

Sony MDR-7506 are great. $99 at MF, but you can probably find them cheaper. Great for monitoring recording as well.

    String tension on fretless acoustic...

I would be more worried about higher tension than less tension. You may need to adjust the truss rod for the lower tension strings, but you should be fine.

Simple Basslines that are incredibly important

    1. Steely Dan's Rikki Don't Lose That Number. Play the simple 1-5 intro and you know exactly what song it is. 2. B52's Love Shack. A little harder, but still pretty simple, yet fun to play.

double bass sound in a bass guitar?

While we can debate whether this sounds like a double bass or not, it most certainly sounds great: YouTube - ‪Veillette Paris Fretless Bass - Kevin Woods bass line and solo‬‏

    What makes a great fretless?

No one has mentioned this specifically, but if you're looking for mwah two things stand out to me: 1. Dead straight neck 2. Low action at the nut (no frets to clear) More subtle but still important is a flatter radius (say 10 or 12). It seems to work better for me than a vintage raduis...

Learned a valuable lesson about freehand routing of pup pockets.

I did this to a Fender PBass in the 80s, trying to add a Jazz pickup in the bridge position. A few hundred dollars later and I had a Chavel body that acheived what I wanted. Expensive lesson, but I haven't done something similar since. I'm sure you've learned as well.

What is your favourite bass intro in a song?

Danny Wilson on Jeff Lorber's Watersign Album, the song "Tune 88" The first 15 seconds is great. Love the rubbery sound on the bends on the bass. Most likely some super light gauge strings. The rest of the song...meh. YouTube - jeff lorber fusion - tune 88 What ever happened to...

My strings go sharp over time.

Sounds like the neck flattening out (loosing relief). I also live in Colorado (in Breckenridge), and I experience this in the Spring sometimes on some of my basses. In the Fall, my basses (and guitars) tend to get too much relief. Nothing scientific here, just my observations.

I know it's not for everyone, but how about some Ric pick tone, by Daniel Earwicker: YouTube - danielearwicker's Channel Bass with only drums at 2:47. By the way, his "band" The Primrose League is all him. Other good cuts for the Ric bass tone from him: YouTube - Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive...

    Bass VI/Baritone help!

Oops, forgot to add that the would bridge wouldn't be a problem unless you want to change string gauges to tune it A-A or B-B, as a lot of people do. You'll have no way to intonate for the change.

    Bass VI/Baritone help!

I've got a Jerry Jones Longhorn 6 tuned E-E, it sounds and plays great. I personally don't think the Dano reissues come close. Of the ones you're looking at, I'd go with the Gretsch.
