The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club Part 2

Dr lo-riders are my fave. They help with getting a less modern sound when needed

    Favorite Cheap Bass

Used ibby atk 750... amazing bass for $350. I would definitely pay more for this bass.

The villex jazz pickups fit in perfectly to my Beast; pretty sure they're the same as the saratoga's. Definitely hot and I would describe them as open. The extra tone control does wonders as well.

Nice Pete. Glad to hear you're playing MTDs. I remember showing you my Beast many moons ago to get it set up at that other langley shop. Is L&M langley carrying them?

Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 9.0 Now A Reality

"our new proprietary 3DPM™. This 3 Dimensional Power Management technology insures more solid output with increased heft and girth of the individual notes, while maintaining the articulation and dynamics of the note." I noticed the 9.2 and the streamliner have this... audible difference...

+1000 saratoga p/j... Sold my Artist with the Aguilar pre; needed the money/sad to see it go. The stock pup sounded great with that pre. Still have my Beast though. Anyone else notice that the newer Kingston necks feel thinner than the old MTD off-shore basses (Beast/Grendel)?

    Lighter 5 String Suggestions

mtd kingstons: the new passive jazz's are really light (basswood) and you get them new under $500. You could upgrade the p'ups, put on ultralights and you're still way under a 1000 with a really light 5 string.
