+1 I think they are using an ICE module that is designed to run at 8ohms bridged to generate x amount of watts (lets say 600 or so). They have found a way to 'force' that ICE module to work at 4 ohms bridged (2ohms per side) and not melt or upleasantly distort due to their limiting design and 'heat control system'. Pretty slick actually, and since they are trying to kind of emulate a tube amp, which increases in THD a massive amount when pushed, this seems to work quite well, and sounds very musical.

Just like in an industrial setting. If you can decrease heat you can increase duty cycle. That I can understand.

I am not up on the physics/math but if you can double heat removal you can multiply your output greatly.

You never really get a good feel for duty cycle until you exceed it with no thermal protects. Ask me how I know. :D

Yeah ya know the funny thing is....I run mine to the red-line at times on one of my gigs.. And the air coming out the side vent is still cool... Even when i am slamming that amp with the yellow light coming on at times... Cold as ice.... I have no idea how they do that..

I have heard it. Just got back from NAMM today, spent some time talking with Jeff about this amp and listening to him play through it for a while. Tone-wise, it absolutely rocks. Very warm and fat sounding ... dare I say SVT sounding? Yes. In fact I asked Jeff if this was essentially a 6 lb. SVT and he thought that was a fair description. Looks-wise, I really love the feel and looks of the amp.

Jeff explained how much thought and detail went into the design of the amp, both for its tone but also its looks. He wanted the amp to give what a "vintage tube" tone preferring player would want but in a design package that looked unique and substantial.

I liked it so much had to come back a few times to see it again, brought some friends along. I own and love my Shuttle 9.0 and was skeptical that this would offer me enough to top it but it did and I'll be placing my order ASAP. :bassist:

I kept a/b'ing the Streamliner and the 9.0 through the same speakers. I like both heads. Both heads are different. I must say the Streamliner did bring me back to an old familiar sound. But so did the new Epifani Piccolo 600. It has a "vintage" push button. Not at all like the Markbass "vintage" knob. It kind of modern-vintage, if that makes any sense.

Anyway... The eq on the Streamliner is more subtle than the 9.0. You can turn the knobs a little more on the Streamliner. The 9.0 eq sounds more active. You really hear the effect from knob turning small amounts.

I really hate to think I'd have to have both amps for different gigs, but there's a real possiblity. You might have to throw the Epifani 600 in there too.
