+1 to keyboard players getting bored. Most rock and pop music is more rhythmic than melodic, and keys are really a melodic instrument. As far as gear: modern keyboards have remarkable piano and organ sounds, but the weak point is the speakers. I play keys when we need it — on a lime green toy...
