if you really have to sell two of your basses.. and if you like the P-thump a lot.. I guess a good P/J is the way to go. It is not going to give you all that Jazz bass brightness but it will deliver a P-sound and a decent J sound, and when you use both pickups together it gives you a very cool...

thanks Fran! actually it will be the fourth in the family.. there´s also my old jazz bass that I made it fretless and replaced the pickup´s with sadowskys´.. a "sadowskyfied jazz bass".. pretty cool sounding if that counts :)
