If it's a neck-thru then you're pretty much hosed. It probably wouldn't be worth the price to repair it. If it's a bolt on neck, than just buy a different neck for it(will almost certainly require re-drilling the holes). If that's not an option it may just be time for a new or a new "used" bass...

I would buy it as well! It seems that the "brand" name decides how "good" you are of a player. I've heard some pretty professional guitar players playing great music on a Squier opposed to the snarks playing a Fender. Squier is dissed on WAY too much.

That's really a shame. Those reverse tuners really irritate me! You'd have to install standard tuners yourself on a vintage neck and that can be a very tedious experience, we should be given a choice.

Honestly, don't give up. Listen to different music styles, check out some videos on youtube(type in bass lessons, etc.) Just listening to someone else play can be VERY inspiring and motivation to progress further. Just keep at it. I've been playing for about 6.5 years now, suffered a hand...

Yeah, I LOVE the Geddy Lee jazz, especially since I cover a lot of RUSH. I love bright crisp tones. I only use Rotosound bass strings, I swear by them. I wouldn't be opposed to buying a Geddy Jazz. I'd even settle for some of the squiers that use the "geddy style" neck.
