    Short scale bass needed

Hi there, you may want to actually post this in the general forums section or classifieds(supporting membership required) you can also "search" the forum and see what people have for short scales, the folks here are all awesome, and very friendly. People love to barter on here. I'm also glad to...

    I got a new player!

    Wow, that sucks!

    I got a new player!

Really? Yeah, I noticed that the older ones weren't very good. I've owned several basses over the past 4 years, including MIM Fenders, a Ric, and many other various brands. This guy is pretty killer, I'm not afraid to show this off while gigging! There are many Squier haters, saying they're...

    I got a new player!

I'm not sure, I play aggresively/slap and pop, but I don't think I'm pretty gentle with my fretting hand.

    I got a new player!

So, I went to my local Guitar Center.......I picked up a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz, for $314 out the door, unplayed and new. It has a neck as slim as the one on the Geddy lee jazz, the thing sounds awesome. I'd lke to string it with rotosounds(which I've used) I'm just concerned about fret...

    the impossible action..

If it's a neck-thru then you're pretty much hosed. It probably wouldn't be worth the price to repair it. If it's a bolt on neck, than just buy a different neck for it(will almost certainly require re-drilling the holes). If that's not an option it may just be time for a new or a new "used" bass...

Leo Quan II Badass Bass Bridge Vs Schaller High Mass

Hello fellow TB'ers. I'm wondering who is using the BA bass bridge that I mentioned? I'd like to upgrade my jazz bass with one and want to know how it stands up against a possibly a Schaller High Mass bridge(a little cheaper than the BA) I love good bright sounding sustain. Let me know, thanks!

My Holy Grail, laid in my lap.

HOLY! &(!@#$!%#^%!&!!!!!! That's just god's way of saying that it was meant to be. This is your reward for finding true love. You have to play the crap out of it every single night, even if she is pulling her hair out! She'll thank you in the long run! Congratulations, you got a true trophy...

    Proud of my Squiers!

I would buy it as well! It seems that the "brand" name decides how "good" you are of a player. I've heard some pretty professional guitar players playing great music on a Squier opposed to the snarks playing a Fender. Squier is dissed on WAY too much.

So, I've been thinking....Fender Bass Designer

Wow, sorry I've been away for awhile. After reading through the comments, experimenting with the "designer" a little more, I've made up my mind. If I were to spend that kind of money, I'd be better off spending it on a custom shop. I like keeping tabs on my local craigslist as well as Ebay for...

So, I've been thinking....Fender Bass Designer

I'd love to have a vintage styled jazz bass(binding on neck, old pickup spacing, lollipop tuners, the whole 9 yards.) That would be THE bass for me. You'd almost be better off scoring a vintage Fender bass from Ebay or your local Craigslist(they do pop up at good prices occasionally, especially...

So, I've been thinking....Fender Bass Designer

That's really a shame. Those reverse tuners really irritate me! You'd have to install standard tuners yourself on a vintage neck and that can be a very tedious experience, we should be given a choice.

Looking for ways of improving my playing?

Honestly, don't give up. Listen to different music styles, check out some videos on youtube(type in bass lessons, etc.) Just listening to someone else play can be VERY inspiring and motivation to progress further. Just keep at it. I've been playing for about 6.5 years now, suffered a hand...

So, I've been thinking....Fender Bass Designer

Yeah, I LOVE the Geddy Lee jazz, especially since I cover a lot of RUSH. I love bright crisp tones. I only use Rotosound bass strings, I swear by them. I wouldn't be opposed to buying a Geddy Jazz. I'd even settle for some of the squiers that use the "geddy style" neck.
