I largely need to get over myself, gear has moved on in reliability since the early 90s when I was last dealing with an active-only bass. Even the inexpensive basses I've been playing over the last 3 years have all been rock solid, and that battery door really makes a difference.

Thanks for the thoughts. If the one I posted is actually local to me I will go look at it — if nothing else to get a chance to briefly play one and see if I really gel with it. Used prices on these seem a bit optimistic these days, given the rough quote I got for a brand new one back in December.

I’ve had mine on 2 gigs so far, a duo gig and a full band gig. Has needed some truss rod adjustment, but otherwise seems reasonably setup. I’m very happy with it, reminds me that I’m really at home on a Jazz bass and the color is lovely.
