Making the 1x15" sound more articulate?

Perhaps I am old school, but I like the amount of air a 15" can move. One 15 for small to medium gigs, two for larger... PS it helps to run a Ric through it!!

Thinking about purchasing a condenser mic for bluegrass/acoustic

A number of years ago I saw Bela Fleck at an outdoor venue... Villa Montalvo, in California. They were using AKGs and Shure KSM32s all over the place... The KSM32 is a cardiod single pattern. I've used it in live situations for vocals, acoustic instruments, horns and overheads with great...

    Running a DAW live?

I couldn't agree more about going digital, reducing outboard gear and getting the most out of your rig. That's why I'm trying out the presonus... all the processing is done in the box, powered mains and monitors. Standard snakes for now, but as budget permits, digital snakes are cool...

    Running a DAW live?

I've been doing live sound and recordings for a while. From back in the day when a mono or stereo mix went to a reel to reel or cassette machine. Undoubtedly an outdoor gig turned out better. A number of years ago I got a presonus firepod and more recently daisy chained it with a fire studio...

Carol Kaye and why we need help protecting our stuff....

I got to meet Carol at a high school bass clinic around '73. I didn't feel so bad about using a pick after watching and hearing her rip on the bass!! :bassist: Just ordered some stuff I should have gotten years ago!! Cheers to Carol! Dave

    Garageband transcription function

Logic can analyze audio and turn it into a midi part, and hence a score as well. I'm pretty sure sibelius has this function as well. You can bet that both of these methods will need you to go in afterwards and edit any mistakes its made. Thanks for the comment! I haven't tried that in logic...

    Garageband transcription function

True I haven't tried it myself, but it would be cool for writing bass lines! Logic does pretty cool scoring from midi. Cheers!
