Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

Thanks for all the advice, it all helps. My other p bass has a very low action with Labella low tension flats and has no fret buzz, fret clank, etc and these strings are not very stiff, at least I don’t think so. I guess maybe just because there flats not rounds .

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

Thanks, I may have to try them next. Can you get a low action with light gauge without fret clanking, etc. ?

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

Anybody ever try the Ghs pressurewound light gauge ? I wonder how they would feel in tension compared to a medium or medium/light round wound string?

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

I finally got the dr sunbeam 40-100 and had the tech set it up with a nice low action. Really liking them , like the sound and much easier on my arthritis than the 45-105 set.

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

I will mention that to the tech when I get new strings. Gonna try the 40-100 sunbeams , hope they aren’t too floppy. Had to order online , hard to find anything but 45-105 sunbeam here.

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

Responding to 999Brent, my fretting hand doesn’t get sore just plucking hand . I just play at home for a hobby and have been teaching myself. I had a nasty bike accident a couple years ago and hyperextended my right hand , tried to cure it myself squeezing a tennis ball cause of high deductible...

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

I think I will try the 40-100, I just hope I can keep the low action with them . I play finger style and have real low action with labella low tension flats on my other p bass and no issues with fret clacking ,etc.

Dr sunbeams med-light or light gauge?

Fairly new bass player also fairly old(almost 68). I have a fender p bass I been playing with labella low tension flats. Easy to play and sound good, also no string noise. I decided I better learn to play with roundwounds also so I bought another fender p bass and had Dr Sunbeams 45-105 put on...

    Gotoh GB640 restolite tuners

Thanks, JRA. I have heard good things about these tuners. I just Cant understand why they don’t make the same footprint as a fender tuner so a person wouldnt have to drill new holes.

    Gotoh GB640 restolite tuners

Thinking of replacing stock fender tuners on 2014 fender American special p bass. Has some neck dive sitting down with strap on. Would these Gotoh gb640 tuners cure that or just maybe help a little. Hate to spend the cash and drill into headstock if it doesn’t cure it.
