    It plays very well right out of the box actually! I can get the action lower but I haven't really tried yet. The neck feels extremely comfortable. In response to the other comment, it's surf green.

    I'm not sure if it's exactly what your looking for but a lot of the basses I've played with piezo pickups give that natural, warm, clicky sound. It sounds like your looking for power too so maybe a bass with both magnetic and piezo pickups would work for you? Good luck with your search!

    Not sure if it's your kind of music but a lot of pop punk uses guitars tuned a half step down. Most of green days early stuff was downtuned.

    envelope filter vs wah

    I believe that the dunlop 105q bass wah only applies the wah to the upper and midrange frequencies. I believe this is so you can still keep the basic note in there.
