Studio Work and Popular Music degree

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I definitely want to try combining the two majors but I'm not really sure if the Popular Music department will allow it. Hopefully I can work something out. Justin, I definitely need a much more confidence and security with it but it helps a lot to hear those...

Studio Work and Popular Music degree

Hi Justin, As the title of this message alludes, I'm that asian kid that you bumped into at FYF fest yesterday. Sorry if I took up a little too much of your time, I know your daughter was tired :hiding: It was great running into you and I was totally starstruck and I was thinking it was kind of...

    Moogerfooger ring mod uses

Thanks for the help! That sounds a little complicated for me as of this point but I'll look more into it once I get a better handle on effects. I'm picking up an expression pedal this weekend and am excited to see what new sounds I can create with it :hyper:

    Moogerfooger ring mod uses

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely experiment with the tremolo a lot more. Do you have some example settings you like to use when the Modulator is on the HI setting? And also, is there a way to have somewhat control over the pitch? I'm gonna get the moog ep-2 expression pedal this...

    Moogerfooger ring mod uses

My moogerfooger ring mod just arrived yesterday and the sounds it makes are totally ridiculous but I'm just not sure how I would use it in a band setting. I play in an experimental type rock group kinda like the mars volta(one of the reasons I got the pedal in the first place) and really have...

    String Life

This is kind of a difficult question to answer but I've been having this problem for a long time so hopefully someone can help me out a bit. I own a 2005 Musicman Stingray and have been using DR strings for the past year or two but notice that they consistently "die" in a matter of weeks. The...

    Musicman Stingray Problem

My friend was messing around on my 2005 Musicman Stingray and he didn't realize how short the cable was and basically the cable got yanked and all of a sudden my bass has extremely low output and the preamp does not work at all. I was thinking that the problem probably lies in the input jack...

Young kids trying to keep the blues alive :]

Sorry if I was misunderstood but I didn't mean like breaking away from what was already done but more like getting new ideas that are different from what we've done before as a band cause a lot of our songs are coming out sounding the same. But yeah definitely we're gonna follow what the...

Young kids trying to keep the blues alive :]

Thanks yeah I like that we're able to play a variety of genres, keeps things interesting. What do you guys suggest for getting more creativity in the group? I was thinking of doing a couple cover songs to practice and get ideas from.

Young kids trying to keep the blues alive :]

One thing, what do you guys suggest we should do to expand our creativity cause thats what I think is really lacking in the band right now. Practically all of the songs are driven by basslines and its starting to get repetitive. We're trying to do more progression instead of lick based stuff...

Young kids trying to keep the blues alive :]

woah I totally forgot about this thread as no one replied to it after the first day or two i posted. I'm not too proud of the recordings we have up there since they were just made as audition tracks for our school battle of the bands. Addressing the main comments to our sound, yeah I agree...

Young kids trying to keep the blues alive :]

We're a bunch of high school kids who love playing and listening to blues, jazz, soul and all that great stuff. We're trying to keep the blues alive by playing a bunch of shows around the school and at events, get the kids to appreciate :) And if my bass playing and singing are mediocre I blame...
