That wouldn't work for me. In both of my projects, regarding cover songs to fill a set list out, each member has veto power. Obviously if the singer can't figure out how to sing a song, the song is a bad choice for the band. That doesn't mean the singer should choose everything.

I never had any sticky strings fresh out of the package. When my strings do get sticky, a wipe down with mineral oil does the trick. I don't know the alloy used, but cobalt steel is hard stuff. The sticky residue may be from lubricant used during the string making process. Maybe wipe them down...
