    That intro was awesome.

I’m pretty sure that even on the non-relic’d US basses, the finish is pretty thin. I think that thin finish goes back to the Dan days. I know on his old site for his basses he used to advertise thin poly finishes.

What’s the name of that color, “jealous”? Lol. That neck has some awesome figuring. Anyone know if Lāklands relic finishes are nitro or if they’re standard poly? Or what their finishes are on their US models in general?

I did not get anything with my US 44-60 a few years back when I bought it from Chicagoland authorized dealer. I vaguely remember asking Leo about it in person and he said they just come with the wrenches and that’s it.

The Official Sterling by Music Man Owners Club

Those tuners are not Ray34 tuners. Also, early Ray34s actually have “Ray34” on the headstock, not “Stingray”. The pickup is also not the right pickup for a 34, of any year. I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you what it isn’t.

Facebook offers usually do more than “check” lol, they insult. Unless I’m in a quick pinch to move something along, I try to stay away from Facebook. That said, I am constantly looking in the marketplace there. And as far as anyone knows, I don’t insult people with my offers on stuff I try to buy.

I’ve been watching that one for a while. I missed that price drop lol

If you ever start making them to sell them, you should let us know. I’d be interested in trying out some other combinations for my JO4.

Music Man StingRay Club | PART FIVE

It doesn’t sacrifice highs though. I’m confused on how it functions and I can’t reverse engineer it without sacrificing the board.

I would, but my Stingray nails the tone I want for the band and the band loves the tone I’m providing. I’ve thought about taking my 44-60 to practice instead… maybe I’ll give it a try and see what they say.

Nice! I’m in a similar boat. 21 years since my last gig and recently joined a punk band. They gave me 30 songs to learn in 2 weeks. And I had to start using a pick. This band isn’t high profile, but they do the bar scene and parties. It’s definitely more for fun at this point but we’ll see where...

I assume you’re talking standard MN taper blend pots? I wonder how a Z curve would work. I’ve never messed with one but I understand they preserve sound better and have smoother roll offs.

I’m going to start diving into it when I have free time. It’s got a few pages dedicated to Lākland and the different models from that time. The one I bought still has the card in the back to send in for the giveaway. Should I send it in? Haha

Thanks, a book I didn’t know I needed. There’s a couple of them on eBay if anyone is looking. I bought one of them. Pay attention, one says it has writing in it.

I can’t speak to the bridge spacing. I have no idea on those specs. The wiring does look like Lākland wiring though. I believe the Fralins would be cloth wire, unless they had a Lākland specific spec.
