Nice! I'm in a similar boat. 21 years since my last gig and recently joined a punk band. They gave me 30 songs to learn in 2 weeks. And I had to start using a pick. This band isn't high profile, but they do the bar scene and parties. It's definitely more for fun at this point but we'll see where the originals take it to. I haven't posted about it here because I'm not using my Lākland for it.After a 3+ year hiatus I've finally landed a solid bass gig. Temping for now but hopeful it ends up more permanent. Regardless three solid jobs in and happy to be putting all this great gear into service!

I would, but my Stingray nails the tone I want for the band and the band loves the tone I'm providing. I've thought about taking my 44-60 to practice instead… maybe I'll give it a try and see what they say.You should get a Lakland for it

I just ran across this bass on the Guitar center - Musicans Friend sites.
It's a Lakland 44-64 Geezer Butler.
They have it labeled as a Duck Dunn.
Decent price. $1099. Says it comes with a hardshell case.

Guitar Center mis-labeling a bass? never heard of that happening before.
I'm back after a while (my username used to be without a 1) with a new bass and a question; a few weeks ago, I bought a bass that was sold to me as a Skyline 55-02, but I saw immediately: this is a 55-92. I checked the serial and it checks out as a 1999 55-94 
It's in pretty good nick but you can also see it's a 27 year old bass. My question: it has replacement knobs, is it possible to buy the original Bartolini knobs somewhere? I e-mailed Lakland twice but got no response...
Now my USA Lakie collection consists of three amazing basses. Love those necks.

Congratulations. It's been a good 15 years since they had to switch knob suppliers, so all you can get is the current version. Have you tried putting thread locking compound on the screw threads?
I have the mid control at 1kHz on my 55-02. Boosting it helps bringing the P sound when I pan to the neck pickup (I have Nordstrand NJ5s and MM5.4).

I tried to retire my 55-60 "Old Glory" this year as the 11lbs+ is just a tinge too heavy for 3-4 hour gigs but my ear missed it way more than my shoulder did. I tried to recreate this bass in my other 55-60 but it just doesn't have whatever this one has. So, shoulder be darned!

Maybe a bit redundant, but: have you tried different (eg: ergonomic) straps? I remember my old 55-60 being pretty heavy as well but with the right strap it felt pretty okay.

Yeah. Tried a few. The one I use is a well padded 4" strap that generally works well. It's just when I get out near the end of a two hour set that it starts to really show its weight.
Agreed. I've been using a Neotech mega strap for years and it really does help. Obviously will not make the bass lighter but it takes off the rigid compression feeling over the shoulder. I use to have a DJ5 that was over 11 lbs and it really helped.
