    For the truss rod voodoo people, proper steel bolts(which a truss rod is essentially), should be able to withstand much more torque than you can turn with your hands. Screws are designed to stretch when tightened. The nut has to stop turning and give you feedback, well before snapping. If it...

    It depends on how often I check. Unless your bass is completely isolated from heat transfer, and body contact, it's impossible for basses to not go out of tune.

    Seems like a lot of effort for no real benefit, when there are cheaper alternatives already available. It would be nearly impossible to have a pre-molded nut with perfect slot heights, which was the whole point to begin with.
