    I'd say that if you're going for a synthy sound it'd be better to put the distortion before the filter because that adds more frequencies to the signal which you then filter out to get those sounds. but, you should still try it out both ways and others in your setup if you're unsure.

    Synth Pedal to Compliment a Deep Impact

    MarkBass Super Synth? I'm not sure about the Deep Impact's sounds but I know the SS has 3 saw waves that can be tuned a variety of ways. It depends the sounds you want really but that might compliment it well.
