i have a gretsch g 2220 short scale bass with flatwounds and it's great

only been playing bass about a year but at 65 years with a lifetime of abuse to my hands my gretsch junior jet is really comfortable and gives me the tones i want. but, my son just bought me an epiphone eb-o and i think i'm really gonna like that one too.

gonna leave the list, I just got the peavey 150 max and i'm really happy with it. looked real hard at the rumble but for $50 more the peavey had some nice features.

at 64 with a lifetime of abused hands I found a crème that seems to help. i'm not shilling for this stuff but it helps, found it at Walmart it's Australian dream and it's not another menthol crème. kinda pricey but it helps arthritic hands .

I have a Mitchell mb200 which is the cheapest of the line. as I just started learning bass a couple of months ago, I find it a good bass to start with. a decent set up and good strings and I think it's a pretty fair instrument.
