Stingray likely is just plain louder than your old bass. Check your input meters (if available) or your waveforms in your DAW and see if its overdriving the input. Then pad the input and repeat. If may also be your headphone amp, Im running into this issue with my Focusrite, but mostly on...

I find the Khan does have a hot output, and usually its padded at the DI (-6Db) and padded at the interface end (Focusrite 18i20), and still has to stay under 9 oclock or so on the gain. But it sounds great, so....

Random- put Dimarzio Area J's in greenie, big upgrade. The stock pickups were very bright, but not in a pleasant way IMO. The Areas do what they say they'll do, which is tighten bass, make the highs a bit softer, and really focus on the mids. And of course silent, which is great.

I have a Sire fretless, and I think the nut is also cut for fretted. Any insight as to nut slot depth measurements off the fretboard one would want?
