    Most playable neck

    Of course this is subjective!! For me it is an '82 (like *that* matters[snort!] )Rickenbacker. Thin all the way down. My Peavey G-Bass has an incredible neck also. But then again, i have small hands... :bassist:

    Questions about Rickenbackers

    Isn't one more difference the two piece face plate (4003) vs one piece (4001)? The first time i picked one up (i have small hands) i new it was 'right' for me. Also, i saw a backpack-type super guitar strap that would be great for you... Anyone know what i am talking about/links for...

    A good slap sound?

    One more... The Peavey with the composite neck (single huge active humbucker) has a (IMHO) awesome sound & is very easy to slap (Well, at least compared to my '82 Rick... :bassist: )

    Acoustic Bass guitars

    For cheap - i was happy with my Kramer (see above). It had an electric neck and a 'decent' sound - kinda' thin. (I sold it to make rent one winter a long time ago...) While on deployment to OIF/SouthWest Asia I tried to mail order an accoustic so i could help the Praise and Worship...

    I can top y'all - My first bass was a $100 pBass imitaty. I put real nice *gold* schaller machine heads on it. I had a custom face plate made up. I put a beautiful *gold* Kahler Tremelo bridge on it. It was still a piece of shtuff. What a waste of $$$... I sold it to my friend for...
