    Quick question about Key.

So a church has asked me to play for them. They have sent me their song list and the keys they play their songs in. So the question is, If they are playing in the key of D, Do I just play the notes from D scale on my bass? Or is there some freaky conversion to the bass clef? Thanks.

Coolest and Dumbest band names you've played under...

"The gas men" We were trying to copy a band called "The plumbers" We then switched to blues and took the name "Blue Gas." We had a logo with a smurf farting. Lesser known band names I have played under Wolf Cringe The Beatless Parental Guidance Angelz Empire

How Did You Get Into Bass?

I got sick of lugging drum stuff around. My fingers are too fat to get the precision I wanted on guitar, so bass was the obvious next step.

    Test your Ear

81%, but I didn't take it as serious as I should have. The ADD kicked in around number 15 and I turned it down to watch Boston Legal. I didn't see any repeat button either.

Tuning by ear or using a tuner?

Every time I pick up my guitar, bass, or mandolin, I check it against a high quality Seiko Chromatic tuner. If it's not perfect, I make it perfect before I play. If you practice out of tune, even by a few cents, your ear will get used to hearing mud. You may be out of tune on stage and never...
