When you place an other, they give you a quote and that's what you pay. I've paid both of mine in full when I placed my orders, but I guess the price is set also if you pay when the instrument is completed. (ie: you won't get "fined" for waiting if the instrument takes years to be completed)...

If it's an Alembic you can run it without the box, just put in two batteries. If the 1/4 output is wired stereo, you'll hear only one pickup. (modding to mono is pretty easy and how they come standard now) I just looked at the calendar, it's 2026! Posting a picture on TalkBass should be up...

It's just a different approach to pickup selection, still has dual Filters with CVQ's. The pan pot is stereo, so also with separate pickup outputs.

It has a pan pot + mastervolume instead of two volumes and mastervolume, the owner (s_wood) has several of those (mostly Europa shaped)

I checked, these are the exact dates: Payment confirmation September 17 2019, delivered July 31 2023 It's a tough wait, but in my experience the waiting time will instantly be forgotten once you have it in your hands.

I think Edward's answer is pretty close to reality under normal circumstances, my Elan was about the same in 2010 However my latest took almost 4 years, covid was the explanation for it. Both customs were quoted to be completed in +/- 7 months, looks like months have a couple of extra weeks...

Mine is about 12.5 lbs, saved a little bit of weight with plastic backplates :-)
