thank you for the info and opinions. it will be paired with an ampeg 410 hlf which has some extreme low end, so it will not be a concern. looking for dirty midrange and highs. was mostly worried that the speakers may blow out, or would not be able to handle the frequencies or volume.

looking at an old peavey 412s pictured below. i understand it's ideally a guitar cab but i was wondering if the old scorpion speakers could handle bass. wouldn't be pushing more than 200 watts through it, while it's rated it 300. anyone ever given this a shot, or have any ideas if the speakers...

Tone's already pretty gritty, so mostly just looking for added volume without much eq or tonal difference.

Looking for more noticeable dynamic shifts than what I can pull off with just my right hand. Any specific pedals to recommend? I have tried an OCD as a boost, which it has a reputation for being good at, and I noticed a little too much low end loss for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I believe the pbass special has one extra knob, so i'm pretty sure it won't fit. I've never tried it though so there's always the chance drilling another hole in the standard pickguard would solve the problem
