Do not take your bass to this guy, whoever he is... he's a moron. Fender, Gibson, Rickebacker, Alembic ( just to name a few ) all released 2v 2t instruments. Stay away from this shoemaker.

If 400w + 100W doesnt work with a 500W amp then you're not adding them together. You're contraficting yourself. Either you add them together and 400 + 100 = 500 or you're not. Can't have both.

Honestly the veneers on the body aren't going to make much difference. It's the body CORE and the neck woods that will define the sound of the instrument. An 1/8" inch laminate of maple on a Mahogany body isn't going to suddenly make it all tinny and brittle sounding. But if you take a giant...

I owned that red Hamer explorer for a while. Apparently Sting wasn't all that impressed. It ended up at the big Hamer dealer (Swissvale Music) in Pittsburgh. It was a long time ago. I don't even remember who I sold it to. It was a terrible bass to be honest.

Actually the PB designation isn't the color, it's the wood used for the top. In this case Poplar Burl. I ordered one online and it should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
