Use a cloth. fold it, slip under the knob and wrap around. twist and pull gently, and it will slip off easily!!

I took photos of the various stages. I shall make a tutorial and start a thread to show how to do this. I performed the process with minimal tools and supplies, but I will suggest what should be used to make everything work optimally.

This is my first kit build, a short-scale from the Fretwire. I added the string retainer, leveled the frets and strung it with some flat-wounds and it plays and sounds great.

It's a 3d render with a little bit of postwork. I do old-school painting and drawing, but have also been using digital tools since the late '80's when the Amiga computers were around.
