One Song to Save the World...

The aliens have landed, want to dance, and they've given you the Ultimate Ultimatum: Play one song to fill the dance floor or they blow up the world!

What song are you gonna play?

(I've done almost nothing but stay at home, go on Facebook and TalkBass, and work from home like a dog since mid-March. No gigs. Two rehearsals. Figured I'd throw this out there for some fun.)
Gotta be “Superfreak”

True story: Every year, I do a big public speaking engagement in Boston's Hynes Convention Center.

(Hall D to be specific)

While the hall is filling and I'm backstage (and anxious as a cat in a rocking chair factory! :nailbiting:), I have a pre-show countdown timer running on the big screen behind the stage accompanied by about fifteen to twenty minutes of music. More often than not, there is a theme to the musical selections.

Back in 2017, the convention's theme was "Retro", so I chose "Time" for musical theme. Specifically, "Time" by Pink Floyd, "Time Stands Still" by RUSH (I always find a way to work in a RUSH song ;)) and "The Time Warp" from Rocky Horror.

After the show was over, I asked the people working the soundboard if the crowd like the musical selections, since I couldn't see them backstage. One of them said, "Dude, the staffers working the doors and letting the crowd in were stopping to dance the Time Warp with the people coming in!", which was confirmed by said staffers nodding their heads in vigorous agreement. :roflmao:

Has anyone mentioned We Are Family?

The official song of the 1979 ‘We are fam-a-lee’ Pittsburgh Pirates!
Every time I hear it, it’s 1979 all over again. Pops, the Cobra,Mad Dog,Candy,Teke
And of course, the great Chuck Tanner. There will never be another man like him.
It made the Pirate Parrot dance, every 8th inning. Good song, great team.
41 years and counting, Let’s Go Bucs!
