The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

I'm pretty happy with the bass pod, the range of effects is great. I use things like delay and distortion very rarely. Most of the time those are distractions from worship imo. However the tone controls are great and compression is almost always part of the presets. Built in tuner is used...

Agreed, with few exceptions those who are active in are more active promoting Christ centered lives outside the church also.

Yup. Been there. Thankfully most worship genre songs can be pulled of without a drummer but I feel for you. A good drummer is sorely missed when they cant make it.

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

Honestly its a tricky thing to start recognizing chord changes by ear. I still miss them when they arent natural to the key signiture. Ive been playing, actively listening to music for almost two decades now; just to say be patient with it. Start with songs you know the intervals to already...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

Howdy fellow worship bassists. First posting in this thead ;-) So I wanted to just say yup to sometimes watching the kb players left hand. Highly recommended in 'spontanous' sections. Though it can, in my case at least, lead to momentary lag effect while my brain processes and fingers catch up...

Suggestions For Replacement Tuners For G&L Basses?

I have 'schaller' tuners. But have had them fail often because they are zinc. Nice light metal; not so resiliant. So I have been wondering the same thing. My bass is of the mid 90's vintage.

    Circle of fifths clarification

Trying to work my way through the majors right now with the circle... arg, not used to switching scales mid way through them though. Wonderful tutorial on em on scottsbasslessons.com, anyways thats what got me trying them out this evening. And ya relative minors are always useful to know.

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

My tuners are unmarked as well but they are schallers, or at least that was what I was told by the store I ordered them through, the replacements I got were also unmarked but matched the originals. Also to note at that point the HZ pickups were also unmarked, which imho isn't a bad thing...

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

Well, sad to say I'm not currently with a band. Moved away the band I was playing with which was contemp worship (Hillsong United feel). I like to play along with stuff atm. I love practicing with DMB so Stefan Lessard's tone and style, not that I'm at that level atm.

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

Well actually you can look at it in the following thread, http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f38/loose-wire-goes-where-937343/ I was having issues with "fuzz" bass sound and was worried it might be electronics related but a proper application of contact cleaner on the pots and soldering the...

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

Looking for advice from other Spector officianados. I have a NS 95 and was thinking of replacing the existing circuit for a tone pump. Good idea or is it a similar sound to what I have? I was thinking of getting a euro 5 or 6, but budget is a huge issue right now so $99 on the tone pump...

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

I think I might have to try that. I'm still playing a NS 95 and always wanted more of a 35" scale B sound. So long as I don't over tension the already stressed stress rod. :p

    loose wire goes where?

Ok, so good advice with the testing different connections thanks for the hint. Made sense once I hit the right one on the other gain pot. So from what I could tell from EMG-HZ passive pickups the loose wire was the output. There being only one spot on the chip it makes sense that the two...

    loose wire goes where?

I might be wrong but I'm thinking that it may have to go to the other pickup volume not the tone. The middle of that bottom one (which would be treble tone adjust) does already have a purple one coming off of it already. I wish there was a clear break in the solder showing a missing connection...
