Adding J pup to P bass, should I go 60’s or 70’s spacing?

Personally, I don't think it much matters at all. It is very subtle difference. I would bet the majority of us here wouldn't be able to hear a difference in a full band mix, either live or recorded.

Probably a Landing bass. Not sure if he's around and building them still, but there's a couple on reverb. 30" Short scale.

Do you know what that issue is? If it's just the diameter of the retainer hole being too small, could just take a round file to it to increase the diameter. Reverend make a 3 string retainer, but for guitar, so you would have to see if it's long enough. Maybe a local machine shop could fab...

    Cars of historic interest, Ep05 - Chevy Suburban, 7th generation (1973 - 1991)

The firs vehicle I owned as a teen, was a '55 burb. Bought it for $300. Loved that truck. Kinda like this one, but 2 tone.

    So Damn Early

I don't mind the earlier gigs, however doesn't change bed time. At 70, my normal time to go to bed is still 2:00 - 3:30 am. Been that way most my adult life. But being retired, I usually sleep until 8:30 - 9:30.

    NBD…after I said I was content…

A Tort guard pretty much always looks good on a white bass. Cream covers could be cool if different enough from the body color. That said, I would most likely leave PU covers black and go with a pearl guard, either white or aged white. Of course, just my preference.

Ear and tone perception calibration test (Fender JB American Deluxe + John Suhr)

I voted no, not the "best" tone. It certainly didn't suck. It sounded good, but I've heard basses I liked the tone of better.
