    Should i get a peddle

This. Very versatile. I have had one on my board for over 15 years. Can add just a touch of grit to moderate distortion. Also nice eq on board

    Flats for a Stingray?

I have TI flats in mine. Fairly bright and lower tension similar to round wounds which I prefer. A lot of people swear by Chromes and La Bella. I have t tried La Bella’s personally but I’ve tried chromes a few times and they didn’t resonate with me, partially do to the high tension

    P bass or thunderbird

I own both. P is arguably the most reliable and (believe it or not) versatile, at least in my opinion. Workhorse of the music industry for over 60 years now. That said I usually use mine more for studio recording (easier for sound engineer in general, it just sits perfectly in the mix) and use...

Steve Albini explains why he hates Steely Dan

This thread is…epic. I love all of it. Personally I dislike Steely Dan to the point that I would never waste the amount of time Albini did to troll them. I understand the technical aspect, it’s just not my cup of tea. That said, his comments were pretty funny and relatively tame compared to...

    Which finish Poll…

I really like tobacco burst finishes, but that first blue one is eye popping. That’s my vote

"Let's do Le Freak... it's real easy"

. This is very true. IMO the guitar is the hardest part, but even that is doable. The question is can your band pull it off? I say go for it. Great exercise for yourself and the band as a whole

Nash basses, are they worth it?

I’ve owned 2 PB63’s. Still have one. “Worth” is entirely subjective but personally I like them. As has been said, they feel and sound terrific. The relic look is the only potential downside, but on the other hand, it helps them retain their value a bit better than a Fender.

Heads Up! Recent scam on Reverb

Wow, this one is still around? I remember it from like 2010. I guess it’s hard to kill a classic, and I suppose they only need a couple of victims a week to make it worthwhile. But to the OP, yes this is a scam

Crybaby Bass Wah or Crybaby Bass Mini?

I’ve had both. Didn’t like the mini because I lean heavily on the pedal when I use it and the mini is awkward in comparison.

The holy trinity + 1 or more

I’ve always considered the Precision, Jazz, Stingray, and Rickenbacker as the “classic 4” with an honorable mention to Spector NS-2. Can’t go wrong with any of these IMO. As for my personal preference, the only Rick I line is the 4003S due to its lack of body binding which I find very...

    Why do folks cut strings?

Wow. 10 pages of discussion on…I don’t know what. To the OP- 1. I cut my strings because it saves time 2. There is no “used string market”

Is this Thunderbird on sale near me legit?

It’s legit. And that bridge is a HUGE bonus. The only thing I don’t really like about my thunderbird is the stock bridge
