Which finish Poll…

I am in the final stages of figuring out my full Warmoth build, and I am on the fence on the body top and finish choice.

I thought that I might just go bananas on the finish and have narrowed it down to these two fancy options that I like:

Ash body with Flame Maple top with Blue Dye and natural masked binding

Ash Body with Koa top, gloss clear:

The burst colors I considered are
Tobacco

Blue burst

There will be a Roasted Flame Maple neck involved…

Koa all the time. Gorgeous wood. If you do anything with the Koa a light burst just going to a darker brown on the edges.

I'm partial to option 1. Toasty maple wasn't quite as popular yet when I had this built. Since then, I only spec roasted necks. I'm even thinking about having another neck for this bass made in roasted maple.

I really like tobacco burst finishes, but that first blue one is eye popping. That's my vote

Love the grain on that tobacco burst = beauty!

While roasted necks are supposed to be more stable, I've read/heard many say the treble gets cooked out of it and they end up sounding a little dead. Anyone hear anything similar?

Unique and eye-catching. Especially the blue dye. And the binding will tie together with the neck.

The Tobacco Burst would be my first choice, it just looks classy to me. The Blue Burst would be my second choice.

They all look great! That said, I voted for ash w/blue dye. Tobacco Sunburst was a very close second.
