I got lost in that first blue one, but I'd still go with the koa.

While roasted necks are supposed to be more stable, I've read/heard many say the treble gets cooked out of it and they end up sounding a little dead. Anyone hear anything similar?

I already have two roasted necks from Warmoth, one Fretless one Fretted. I can't really hear any discernible difference to my standard maple necks.
One major reason I'm going with Roasted is the lack of needing a finish. It comes out cheaper without a finish and it just feels sssooooooo good!!! Especially to the extent way Warmoth sands their necks - I've never felt anything so smooth.

The koa looks great, but with the roasted neck, it may just be a bit too brown/beige looking. Blue FTW!

Never really been a fan of blue basses (ended up with a couple) but the blue dye with the natural mask looks purdy nice to me...

Koa reminds of a high schoolers woodshop project or a bass your dad helped you make, hard pass!

I'd go with the tobacco burst, with that gradient you can bet no matter what the roast looks like it will most likely look like a match.

i voted "blue burst" but i also like the first option (blue dye/natural mask) a lot.

i'm sure you're gonna get a great player in any event, @eastcoasteddie, so any of those "fancy" options are bound to work. good luck with your warmoth build!

With a darker neck I'd go for koa, but it's hard to beat that first blue one when you're pairing roasted maple to it.

Blue Burst (#4). That finish would look killer under stage lights and be an eye catcher in videos and photos posted to social media feeds. Finishes like that seem to be on trend and, unlike other trends, will still look timelessly cool. The darkness of the roast neck will really make the light part of the blue burst pop. That good contrast.

I am in the final stages of figuring out my full Warmoth build, and I am on the fence on the body top and finish choice.

I thought that I might just go bananas on the finish and have narrowed it down to these two fancy options that I like:

Ash body with Flame Maple top with Blue Dye and natural masked binding

I like the beauty of natural wood so I voted Ash & Koa. It will look superb with the roasted Maple neck and board.

I would, however, choose an oil/wax finish over gloss.
