    Has anyone tried these new Musicman Bass amps made by Marco De Virgillis of MarkBass? And Sterling Ball. The BH500 is a 500 watt head(4ohms) and 300 watts at 8 ohms. 8kgs/18lbs There's also a combo 15' speaker with 250 watt head. And an 8x10 box that weighs 40kgs They look pretty

    Tapes on a Jazz?

    Yeah I've been trying to get these tape wound strings to work on my Jazz Bass, I think they're La Bella... They sound great, but I find them quite sticky and slow. Would love to find a slightly thinner/lighter gauge in tape wound. I see Fender do some, but they still look pretty thick

But I've been playing my Blazer lately and put it against my 71 P Bass and I hate to say it, because I'm a big Vintage Fender guy, the Blazer came off sounding sweet.     Thanks for the advice guys. I suppose I'm wanting to use the V4BH and Ampeg PB 212 for small gigs. I play funk mostly, so, I need a bit of volume, but probably not as much as say for a rock gig.

    I have an Ampeg Porta Bass series 2 x 12 box 4 ohms, and would like to get a V4BH that is for sale to use with it for smaller gigs. I'm wondering if it would be loud enough for say a room of 100 people? Instead of carting my SVT-II around. Does anyone have any experience with this?
